In Hindu, the word asgandh roughly translates to “sweat of the horse.” That’s right! It is believed that the root of Ashwagandha provides stamina and strength like a stallion.
Ashwagandha’s latin name is Withania somnifera and is a member of the night shade family, just like tomatoes. Traditionally, the root has been used in India to treat malnourishment in children .
This root is considered to be an adaptogenic tonic and is safe for daily consumption. This specific adaptogenic tonic has proven to support the thyroid and adrenal glands, without causing over stimulation on the nervous system. Instead it is effective in relieving anxiety, fatigue, and cloudy thinking.
